    Built from a plan by Thomas Jefferson, the house and furnishings are representative of the period 1815-1840. The garden is based on early 19th-century plans of Kentucky gardens.

    Thomas Edison House

    Thomas Edison House is a small, double shotgun cottage built in the 1850s located in the Butchertown National Historic district. The museum also houses a large collection of light bulbs and other well-known Edison inventions, such as the phonograph.

    Locust Grove Historic Home

    Locust Grove was the last home of General George Rogers Clark. Clark, Revolutionary War hero and founder of Louisville, died at Locust Grove in 1818. The collection ranges between 1760 and 1840 and includes several Clark and Croghan pieces.

    Whitehall Mansion

    Built as a small eight-room brick house in 1855. A classical revival mansion. The property consists of 8.5 acres, two acres of which are devoted to a tri-level, formal Florentine style garden. The garden features decorative wrought iron gates fabricated by the Logan Company.
